Key duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure project schedule is on track working in collaboration with the Project Manager
  • Execute project work plans aimed at keeping projects on track and on budget
  • Manage all key aspects of the construction site
  • Maintain a safe and organized site
  • Manage all day to day activities 
  • Manage and schedule sub contractors, suppliers and vendors
  • Manage direct employees 
  • Manage materials and service purchase orders as per company processes
  • Lead site project meetings and provide direction and guidance when needed
  • Maintain daily report and schedule to demonstrate site progress
  • Follows Marcon policies and procedures and leads by example

Person specifications

  • Minimum 5-10 years experience as an Assistant / Superintendent or similar direct supervisory role
  • Combination of work experience and/or certification/training in an industry related trade
  • Working knowledge of health and safety programs within the general construction industry
  • Solid understanding of current construction practices, working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications. 
  • Ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong leader, able to communicate clearly and promote teamwork 
  • Ability to use technology, email and learn software programs as needed
