Key duties and responsibilities

  • Partner with Project/Development Managers to develop budgets, cashflow forecasts and budget variance analyses;
  • Monitor the financial position of the projects – recommend financing alternatives, calls for funds, and distributions as appropriate;
  • Verify and approve payments, journal entries, invoices, remittances;
  • Develop cost allocation strategies and invoice coding procedures;
  • Review monthly trial balances and costing reports;
  • Track and reconcile intercompany accounts;
  • Generate draw requests for financing and prepare monthly bank reporting packages;
  • Prepare year end working papers, financial statements and period reporting for select projects;
  • Other duties/projects as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven Real Estate Accountant experience
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with conflicting deadlines
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Time management and multi-tasking
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Initiative to take on work
  • Professional positive attitude
