Key duties and responsibilities
- Ensure project schedule is on track working in collaboration with the Project Manager
- Execute project work plans aimed at keeping projects on track and on budget
- Manage all key aspects of the construction site
- Maintain a safe and organized site
- Manage all day to day activities
- Manage and schedule sub contractors, suppliers and vendors
- Manage direct employees
- Manage materials and service purchase orders as per company processes
- Lead site project meetings and provide direction and guidance when needed
- Maintain daily report and schedule to demonstrate site progress
- Follows Marcon policies and procedures and leads by example
Person specifications
- Minimum 5-10 years experience as an Assistant / Superintendent or similar direct supervisory role
- Combination of work experience and/or certification/training in an industry related trade
- Working knowledge of health and safety programs within the general construction industry
- Solid understanding of current construction practices, working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications.
- Ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment
- Strong leader, able to communicate clearly and promote teamwork
- Ability to use technology, email and learn software programs as needed
